︎ Where we were. Columbia's MPA in Development Practice program needed to communicate its complex, multidisciplinary approach to potential students. Despite offering comprehensive training in development practices, from food systems to environmental sustainability, the program lacked a compelling visual narrative that would attract ambitious candidates.



︎ ︎Where we wanted to be. The program aimed to position itself as the premier destination for future development practitioners by clearly demonstrating how it integrates diverse disciplines—public health, economics, infrastructure, and environmental sustainability—into a cohesive educational experience.




︎ How we got there. We developed a brand identity system centered around the concept of 'connecting the dots' between various development principles and methods. Through strategic use of infographics and illustrations, we visualized how the program's curriculum weaves together technical knowledge, practical skills, and essential tools.

The resulting communications suite—from program brochures to newspaper advertisements—created a clear visual narrative about the program's unique approach to development education. Each piece reinforced how students would gain the comprehensive toolkit needed to address complex global challenges.

By making the abstract concept of integrated development practice tangible and visually engaging, we helped the program better attract candidates ready to tackle the world's most pressing development issues.
